Early Bird Fitness Test

Time to get started to get those extra pounds off your body , is time to get down to business. So how to start ? Well as for me the best way to start your journey is to have what I called a simple Fitness Test.

A Fitness Test at the beginning of your journey could be a good indicator of your progress throughout your journey because we not only wanted to cut those pounds off but at the same time we would like to get fitter and stronger.

What's a fitness test you say ? Well is a simple procedure where if you goes to the gym you can choose a few machine and test yourself with it .
1. Choose a machine
2. Select your desirable timing, suggested timing is 15 minutes per machine
3. Choose a level you most comfortable with
4. Have fun and enjoy the process
Choose at least 3 type of machines to see how you do in different pieces of machine , I would recommend threadmill ( running ) , biking and cross trainer so that you can test different kind of muscle group and as well as movement but of course you can choose other machine based on your preference.



So what if you dont go to gym ? That's not a problem as well . You can conduct your Fitness test by doing outdoors activities such as running around your neighbour park , go hiking or simply walk up the stairs. Record down how long it takes you to finish up a few rounds of those activity so you could compare your timing the next time around when you did your next Fitness Test.


To get the most accurate result of your process it is advisable for you to pushes yourself beyond your limit throughout the duration of the test.

I still remember vividly the first time I did my first Fitness Test was in Biggest Loser Asia campus which also my first training session with Kristy Curtis where I overdo it when I was on the threadmill and fell flat on the threadmill like some luggage at the airport. Ahha , how nostalgic of that and it hurts but I am glad that I really pushes myself back then.

You could use the following table to keep track of your progress of the Fitness Test.


I did my own personal Fitness Test on the 3rd day of CNY , I have to say I am very dissapointed with my own performance after eaten so much sinful stuff during CNY but well there is always room for improvement after this. Now is time to get back on track and no more distractions from now onwards.

I would love to keep my Fitness Test confidential but what the heck right ? Sharing is caring so here is my result , hope you guys wont laugh at my lousy performance. I did my test on every available cardio machines in the gym.

    now, at least i know what to target in the gym... all the time, I just do what i like for one and half hour... take shower, then go eat... :P

    ok, need ur comment... usually I do 2km tread mills... my target is always to complete 2km no matter how long it takes...but usually it's about 25-35 minutes... then rest... then go do light weight lifting... wat say u?...

    Ahha please dont take my Fitness Test result as a guideline , honestly it was a very bad test but I reckon in a month or 2 my result should be more presentable.

    Honestly it is always best to make use of your time while in the gym so it is better to plan ahead on what to do , sometimes you can focus on cardio , sometimes outdoors , sometimes strenght training , sometimes classes , etc

    I am not really an expert but it is never advisable to to do a routine workout because as times passes your body will get used to the workout and whatever you do will no longer be that effective.

    I would suggest you try to mix and match your workout , sometimes you can try biking , rowing or even stepper instead of threadmill . Then if your gym provide classes you can join those classes such as Body Combat , Body Attack , Body Pump , Yoga and etc.

    And if you are a member of Fitness First you could always try their Fitness Fix exercises, it is a very very good workout where you do out of ordinary activities that confuses your body.

    You could also engage the services of Personal Trainer to help you out on your workout.
